The band formed in 2006 when Joe, then juggling drumming duties with The Pipettes, decided he needed an outlet for the effervescent pop symphonies that he had been writing. Now, after finishing 2007 with an extended series of phenomenal shows - supporting CSS, Babyshambles, Dizzee Rascal and the Kaiser Chiefs as well as their own headline gigs, Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong refuse to let up the pressure in 2008. They have picked up plaudits from the Beeb, a slot on the NME Awards tour supporting The Cribs and, after just a handful of gigs, it might be fair to say that Joe Lean & the Jing Jang Jong are on a stratospheric rise to fame and glory.
