Corporation Street hadn't realised what had hit it when Sound Bar opened its doors to Birminghams second Red Stripe Music Award gig. Following on from the Rainbow Bar in February the proverbial bar raised raised from the first cord that was played by lead guitarist Danny Pease. With their thunderous drums and explosive guitars I knew this was going to be a night not to miss. The Riptides were nothing less than exceptional - with influences from the likes of One Night Only, Enter Shikari and dare I say it The Killers, they woooed the crowd with some melodic strings and room filling sythethsised sounds.

As the night moved on the Dixons hit the stage with some great guitar solos and friendly lyrics. Last but not least were local boys Page 44, tipped for the top by local promoters these lads done well and finished the night with a warm fuzzy feeling in everyone's heads!
