The Red Stripe Music Award 2008 gig series hit Birmingham on Friday 25th January. With a backroom full of music loving beer drinkers The Rainbow Bar was treated to three of the best unsigned bands this side of the West Midlands!

First up on stage were The Leonards, who had never played at the Rainbow Bar before however with their toe tapping athemes set the scene for the night ahead. With the bar raised The Vehicles pulled it out of the bag and treated the audience with a sound what can only be described as the Brummie answer to the Rifles. By the time we reached the final act The Rascals the crowd were chomping at the bit, finishing the evening with their Artic Monkeyesque riffs and violin over tones.

This old victorian boozer oozes character and charm with an ability to capture and hold any crowd. The 3 rooms moving away from the mainstream sound infavour of innovative, eclectic and diverse entertainment.
